Palimpsest

This gallery looks for those traces of old marks that remain beneath the surface. Hands folded in rest, hands still at work on the loom, a hand around a glass: skin creased and worn into a record of everything it has held and made. Alongside them are figures seen softly, blurred until they are more presence than portrait. Their shapes remain, but the particulars begin to slip away, the way people do in memory.
