Every scene holds more light than we can see. These photographs were made with the part that escapes us. At Angkor, stone that has weathered nearly a thousand years grows pale and luminous against darkened skies. Along Cambodia's rivers, trees flare white above black water, and the daily traffic of boats and fishermen seems to drift outside of time. The places are real, and nothing has been added. Infrared simply reveals them as they are in a spectrum just beyond our own. The result is a Cambodia both exact and dreamlike: the world as it might appear to other eyes.
